Noypi Rocks!

Hail to the King of Pinoy Rap!

I am but a fan of Original Pilipino Music. While most of my friends dabble on techno and R & B, I rock out with the bands I grew up with.

I will always remember how I went to SM North to buy Eraserheads’ Cutterpillow. I bought the tape at the exact date it was released. I was laughing when I first heard Overdrive and I once called Campus Radio WLSFM to request for Ang Huling El Bimbo even if it has yet to be released as a single. Speaking of Campus Radio, I was always happy when Color It Red’s Paglisan beat Boyz 2 Men’s On Bended Knee when they faced off in their Daily Top 20 Countdown. I also remembered when I always set my radio at 8:45 because Braggy’s last song at one point would always be Francis Magalona’s Kaleidoscope World.

Music and I have a good connection. OPM Music and I have an awesome connection. I have a wide database of OPM music from its Manila Sound days to the current Pogi Rock scene. I even have tracks from the 80’s, 90’s, and 2000’s that could freak the hell out of people. I am very, very happy on how mainstream rock is doing in the late 90’s and the 2000’s although I hope the song writing would improve. 2011 marks a new era. Ely Buendia is now pushing 40+, most of the ladies of rock are enjoying the joys of motherhood, and most of the rockers I know and love have either mellowed down or doing something else that isn’t music-related.

This is pretty much a blog of a fan who wants the music he loves to be remembered. I am certain that our music is a treasure and perhaps we should create an avenue to raise awareness with our product. Any useful data will be welcome in this blog.

And hopefully OPM will forever rock and be awesome.

Game over.
